Thoughts 5/28.

A few fun random stories & thoughts while I’m waiting for my 12:00 lunch date.

I went to the car shop today. Not for car shopping. The body shop.

A couple of months ago, I was sitting (in my car) in the parking lot of Cary Crossroads. I was in line behind another car, waiting to pull out into the traffic lane. I suppose he was jutting out a bit into said traffic lane, so he decided to back up. And he did. Into the front of my car.

It was raining and I was supposed to catch a flight to California that day, so we just exchanged info and went on our way.

I was not particularly worried about it until his insurance company determined that, since I was not aware of the fact that he was backing into me, and in turn did not perform any preventative actions such as honking or trying to back up myself, I was a contributor to the accident, and, therefore, denied of coverage from his insurance.

FML.

On a lighter note, my cat is adorable.

A much more pleasant cat-related FML story:

Again, about two months ago, I was planning for an awesome day at work at Lulu (I used to do PR there… amazing company, you should check them out). I had been sick for a couple of days, so I wanted to get into the office nice and early to make up for lost time. I set my alarm for 7:00 and hit the hay.

I wake up to the sound of a voicemail alert. I check my phone. The voicemail is from my boss. She is wondering where I am. Because it is 10:00 in the morning.

Panic. I jump out of bed, throw on the work outfit I had conveniently laid out for the day, and rush to work, getting there by 10:20. I apologize to the boss for being late, but having no real excuse, that conversation ended quickly.

I sit down at my desk. I immediately notice that something smells quite awful. I realize that the smell is in fact originating from my body, as Raphael apparently decided to piss ALL OVER my work pants that night while I was sleeping, and I got dressed too quickly and frantically to notice. And I was stuck wearing them for the remainder of the work day.

FML.

Even better, I order some curry soup for lunch. Apparently this soup was particularly sloppy, or I was particularly sloppy, as when I looked down upon my white blouse upon finishing, I noticed it was completely covered in curry soup.

I spent the remainder of the day smelling like cat piss and covered in what looks to be my own vomit.

Ohhhh precious memories.

Luckily, I seem to appreciate the irony of my life so much that I really don’t get upset over these moments at all. They often turn out to be pretty hilarious stories. Also, Raphael is too fucking cute to get mad at.

Thanks so much!! I shoot with a Canon 50D… and any photos from before January (all of the 2007 tour or washington photos) are with a Canon S3 IS.. my glorified point-and-shoot. I went back and did some re-editing of my old shots before I posted them on the blog.

Glad you understand my Raphael obsession as well! Thanks again!
