It’s been more than a week since my last post. I don’t even know where to begin summing up what’s happened in my life since my last correspondence.
To start, my friend Peter came to visit from Detroit. This was his first time in Raleigh, and so it was my mission to give him the best perception of NC possible. I occupied his first full day in town with a 15-hour walking tour of downtown Raleigh, introducing him to dozens of fun neighborhood dwellers along the way.
Then came the weekend. My mother’s birthday beach weekend. I ended up bringing six guys with me, as a gift of sorts.
I would love to cover this weekend in detail, but the stories are just too precious and too much of a liability to cover in a high-traffic blog. As consolation, here is my family’s Christmas card photo for next year:

Here are some more photos highlighting the week:

On a great note – phototour plans have finally taken shape, and I will be feeding details to you in my next post! It’s going to be AWESOME! Yes yes yes it will.
As for now, I have to get back to packing/throwing away everything I own, as I will be officially homeless tomorrow. I am giving away 90% of my belongings, and am trying to be rid of them by tomorrow afternoon, so if you are in search of anything in particular, I probably have it, and am probably trying to give it away.
I have:
- tons of clothing
- furniture (chairs, tables, storage, lamps, etc etc)
- everything kitchen or cooking-related
- a million bajillion other knick knacks… really anything and everything you can think of.
Seriously, I want to get rid of this stuff, either tonight or tomorrow. If you are interested taking some of my stuff, please shoot me an email at helena@queenofthepavement.com.
Also – if you haven’t checked it out yet, take a gander at my photostore… I am selling my photos for obscenely cheap to raise a few dollars for the road.

Ok, more info to come tomorrow. Stay tuned!
